GA 16-2. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to reduce the potential for, or the appearance of, a conflict of interest or other impropriety between the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (“91㽶Ƶ”) administration and the 91㽶Ƶ Board of Governors in the event a Lay Member, as defined herein, of the 91㽶Ƶ Board of Governors wishes to apply for employment at 91㽶Ƶ while serving as a Lay Member of the 91㽶Ƶ Board of Governors.

GA 16-3. Definition

“Lay Members” means those nine members of the 91㽶Ƶ Board of Governors appointed by the Governor of the State of West Virginia, as set forth in West Virginia Code § 18B-2A-1.

GA 16-4. Policy

No Lay Member of the 91㽶Ƶ Board of Governors may apply for employment with 91㽶Ƶ without first resigning his or her position on the 91㽶Ƶ Board of Governors.
